Hanley Farm

Historic Hanley Farm reopens in May

Just in time for the daffodils, Historic Hanley Farm will re-open for a series of seasonal events this spring.

So far the Calendar includes:

-- A "Meet The Farmer Barn Dance" in May.

-- A Benefit Concert featuring Christina Duane in June, celebrating the release of the new book "A History Of Jacksonville" by Margaret LaPlante.

-- A Handcrafted and Antique Toy Fair in July.

-- A Sunday Afternoon Picnic in August.

-- An "Eating Locally Celebration" in September.

Volunteers are needed to take admissions; staff the Hanley Mercantile Store; give house, barn and garden tours; work activity booths or children's games; set up chairs and tables; help prepare grounds and house before events; and coordinate publicity.  If you're interested in being a Hanley helper, contact Alice Mullaly at 541-664-2079 or lmullaly@jeffnet.org.

Look for our "Hanley Horsepower Flour"

Hanley Farm is proud to announce its new "Hanley Horsepower Flour," made from whole, red spring wheat grown right at the Farm!

This flour is naturally grown, without pesticides and chemicals, and harvested by hand and hoof -- the old-fashioned way. It is milled by our friends at Butte Creek Mill, and available for sale at Hanley Farm, Ashland Co-op, Rogue Creamery, and the Jacksonville Merchantile.

Price at Hanley Farm is $5 for a 2-pound bag -- a great gift for your baking friends!

Hanley Horsepower Flour is a collaboration between SOHS, the Southern Oregon Draft and Harness Association, Grange Co-op and Butte Creek Mill.

All proceeds benefit the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
