THE LIFE OF GEORGE WRIGHT: RANCHER, PHILOSOPHER, FRIEND

Date:
Wednesday, June 3, 2020 - 12:00pm

Also presented at the Ashland Library the second Wednesday of each month

George Wright lived until 1981, but his life seemed to belong in an earlier time. He was a rancher, a range rider, a deputy sheriff, a writer, and a friend to many people. Although he quit school after the sixth grade, deciding he did not need more education, George became a chronicler of events, place names, and southern Oregon history, keeping written notes in hand made notebooks that are now in the Southern Oregon Historical Society Archives. Pat Harper, formerly the SOHS Archivist, will share stories of George Wright's life and  selections from his writings.
