Repurposing Sale and Tour of the Penney's Building

POSTPONED - The Southern Oregon Historical Society regretfully announces that  its Repurposing Sale and Open House scheduled for Friday and Saturday, January 22-23  has been  postponed.  The decision was made in light of the Governor’s January 2nd  decision to extend state of emergency for an additional 60 days in Jackson County to mitigate the spread of Covid 19.  It is our hope that by deferring this event will reduce the exposure risk of our volunteers and the general public. New dates will be announced when they  becomes available.

Following World War II, the former J.C. Penney’s building at the corner of 6 th and Central was the

first major commercial building erected in downtown Medford. Saturday, January 23, 10am to 2pm, the

Southern Oregon Historical Society will open the building to the public for walk-throughs, in

conjunction with its “Repurposing Sale” of excess office items, furniture, and books. Covid 19 protocols will be observed.
