11th Annual Scarecrow Festival
Thanks to everyone who attended SOHS Hanley Farm’s Annual Scarecrow Festival. Thanks to each of you, it was a super success! About the festival, one volunteer shared several happy moments, including: A child seeing the witch scarecrow that people were looking for and screaming, ‘There she is!’; the toddler crooning to the bunnies in the bunny cage; babies sitting on the tables to ‘help’ stuff the scarecrows; and the couple with two small children in car seats and two scarecrows trying to fit all into a small SUV, which they did!
The Festival concluded with announcements of the Director’s Award for Best Traditional Scarecrow, Director’s Award for Most Innovative Scarecrow, and People’s Choice contes.

Best Traditional Scarecrow: “Ellie” by the Evalina Family
Most Innovative Scarecrow: “Scarietta Crow & Tiny Tim”
People’s Choice Winners: 1st place, “Sally Scubascare” by Trevor Peterson; 2nd place, “X-14-R Alien” by the Guyette Family; and 3rd place, “Lyza” by Zoey Miller
