1053 Hanley Rd, Central Point, OR 97502
Historic Hanley Farm, established in 1857, is a working farm just outside of downtown Jacksonville Oregon. Owned and operated by the Southern Oregon Historical Society, Hanley Farm strives to preserve the history of the people who settled the land and their contributions to the agricultural development of the Rogue Valley. Because this is a working farm and a museum, visitors are welcome only during Hanley public events.
Hanley Farm is a 37-acre Century Farm. Mary Hanley, one of SOHS's founders of SOHS, gifted the farm to the historical society in 1982. Hanley Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites and was recently added to the Oregon Heritage Women's History Project Significant Site Listing. SOHS is working with MPF Conservation to conduct a paint analysis to discover the original colors and develop a plan to preserve the stencils in the parlor.
Committed to farming methods that are ecologically healthy and sustainable, we cultivate no-till no-chemical vegetable gardens, offer educational programs and community garden plots, and hold special events throughout the year.
Our picturesque 37-acre setting with its 19th century farmhouse, barns, water tower, and additional historic outbuildings offers the perfect backdrop for your special event and is available as a private function rental.
