Windows in Time Lecture Series Presents – “Robbie Collins, The Man Who Saved Jacksonville”
January 8 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Jacksonville historian Larry Smith will share the riveting story of Robbie Collins’ efforts to preserve Jacksonville’s historic buildings by founding the Jacksonville Boosters Club and spearheading the establishment of Jacksonville’s National Historic Landmark District. Robbie’s preservation work is still reverberating throughout the Jacksonville of today, 60 years later. Robbie lived a life that circled the globe, but was firmly rooted in Jacksonville.
The monthly Windows in Time lunchtime lectures feature well-known writers and historians and bring alive the people, values, and events that shaped our southern Oregon heritage. Lectures are jointly sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS) and Jackson County Library Services. Programs are presented in Medford (first Wednesdays, in-person and online) and again in Ashland (second Wednesdays, in-person). Recordings of Medford presentations are available on the JCLS Beyond YouTube channel.
