Victorian Brocaded Satin Dress

This olive-green dress is made of brocaded satin. The bodice has a high neckline with long sleeves and angular cut cuffs. The skirt features a long-gathered bustle skirt and brown grosgrain ribbon trim. It is typical of late Victorian women’s fashion and was most likely worn by Carrie Beekman, daughter of Cornelius and Julia Beekman of Jacksonville, OR.
