Pet Rock Collectible

In 1975, Gary Dahl, an advertising executive, introduced this unusual collectible to the marketplace. Each ‘pedigreed’ Pet Rock was from Mexico’s Rosarito Beach and came in its own custom box with breathing holes and a booklet titled The care and training of your PET ROCK filled with helpful hints and warnings. The sensation lasted about 6 months; long enough to make Dahl a millionaire.
