C. C. Beekman owned and operated the first bank in southern Oregon in the City of Jacksonville during the 19th Century. Beekman believed in the importance of a good education and to that end, he sold a variety of school supplies out of his bank on the corner of California Street. We are lucky to have a number of ‘new old stock’ supplies left from his bank, which is now a museum.
